RINGBALL originated from basketball which was developed for women in 1892.

In 1891 the rules were standardised for women and consisted of only the five basic rules, which were:

  • No grabbing or hitting the ball,
  • only a three bounce dribble allowed,
  • passing of the ball within three seconds,
  • team to consist of five to 10 women and
  • the court divided into thirds.

In 1971 it was decided to allow men to join the sport and since then it has become a family sport where all family members across generations participated and competed from club to national level.

Toti Ringball Club practises every Tuesday and Thursday at Kingsway High School from 6pm to 8pm.

This is a great family sport and all can participate.
