THE BODIES recovered by police in Toti on Monday, 16 February have been identified as a couple from Morningside.
Innocent Maishi was on found on the beach about a kilometre from the Boardwalk complex in Winklespruit, near the Illovo River mouth early in the morning. He allegedly sustained a gunshot wound to the head and multiple stab wounds to the back and chest.
The body of his wife, Smangele was found at the Lovu landfill site in Lower Illovo by municipal workers.
It has been reported that the couple left their Morningside home on Sunday evening, bound for Umgababa.
When they failed to return that night, police were called.
The Maishis’ vehicle was found abandoned near the Lesotho border.
