Destitute pensioners refuse help

We can't force them to move, we can only offer them help.

A destitute pensioner couple has declined an offer from good Samaritans to live out their remaining days in a clean, comfortable home.
Gerald and Thelma Muller were to relocate to a farm in the High Flats on Friday, 16 January thanks to an intervention from the South African Family Relief Project and the farm owner, but have opted to continue living among whoonga addicts in Winklespruit bushes.
We can’t force them to move, we can only offer them help,” said the founder of the South African Family Relief Project, Leigh Oxley Du Preez.

“They did not want to take up the offer, as they didn’t want to be so far out of town. It is up to them. It is a pity, but we will keep on helping them.”
