Lucky draw was won by Kokie Chetty and the raffle won by Yvonne Dixie.

PRESIDENT Melanie Venske of Amanzimtoti Women’s Institute welcomed all members including two new members, Maureen Pyke and Grace Finch, and bade a special welcome to visitors Jenny Marten and Barbara Lane on Tuesday, 11 November.

For adult-ed, Audrey Marten, Rina Perrin and Yvonne Dixie read their stories to members, entitled “My Favourite Smells”. They had everyone fascinated and almost visualising the smells of the items they mentioned.

Marj Archibald’s 90th birthday was celebrated by all WI members at the tea. Everyone wished her, and sang happy birthday when Marj blew out her candle. May Marj continue to be strong, happy and helpful as members have always known her.

Speaker this month was Jen Leeflang, who was very kind to take time to come and demonstrate making Christmas decorations. Jen made it look so easy and her creations will be worth trying.
