Toti-ites club plans reunion for December

The club is for people who grew up on the Upper South Coast area in the 1960s or 70s.

Following its hugely successful reunion in July, the Toti-ites 60s and 70s club is hard at work planning a bigger and better get-together at Lords and Legends on 13 December.

“Our first event was unbelievable, with an awesome vibe,” said committee member, Neville Thompson, who is an ex-Warnadoone lifesaver and Toti rugby and cricket player.

The club is for people who grew up on the Upper South Coast area in the 1960s or 70s.

The idea was hatched by Grant Morris, who started a Facebook page for the group last year, which now boasts over 2,000 members, to see if he could get a small group of Toti’ites from the 60s and 70s together occasionally.

The plan was to host a reunion and it proved such a success, with over 300 people attending. “We were only expecting about 100,” said Neville. “It is difficult to judge how many we will get for the second.” The committee urges people to RSVP by SMS to Grant on 084-760-1692, email laughinglemontree@gmail.com or inbox him on Facebook, or Neville on 071-350-3648 or email tommo.neville@gmail.com.

“It was really amazing to see all the old friends getting together again, as some of them had not seen each other for over 30 years and the December reunion will also have people from all around the world who will be here on holiday,” said Neville.

“We have arranged to have music from musicians and bands from those ‘good old days’ from 1pm until late that night.

There is no cover charge and all you have to do is buy your own food and drinks from Lords.

Also, please bring any old photos of friends or the area on the day.”
