Interest in the return of circuit motorcycle racing to KZN for the first time in more than 25 years is at such a high level that organisers have warned tickets should be purchased in advance.
The two-day SuperGP event takes place on Saturday, August 23 and Sunday, August 24.

The fifth round of the inaugural Monster Energy SuperGP Champions Trophy – the official name of the 2014 South African Motorcycle Championships – will see the country’s top riders battle it out for honours in the SuperGP and Super600 national championships and the SuperM national challenge. Practice and qualifying will take place on Saturday with races – two in each category – providing the action on Sunday.
“There will be no grandstands, but large grassed areas will provide comfortable spectator areas – bring blankets and camping chairs,” said Greg Groothedde of Motorpress.
“No form of braai-ing is allowed because of the fire hazard on the dry winter grass, but organisers have ensured there will be sufficient catering.
This will be a great opportunity to interact and engage with the riders and have them autograph your race day programme during the scheduled pit walks on Saturday and Sunday. Spectators will only be permitted on to the pit lane during the designated pit walks. These are limited and it is advisable to purchase pit walk tickets online and in advance.”
