CPF gets new leadership

All processes were presided over by the leadership of the cluster.

The Amanzimtoti Community Policing Forum (CPF) convened a successful and procedural biennial general meeting, at which new leadership was elected and a new constitution adopted.

All processes were presided over by the leadership of the cluster, who was appointed as independent election officers by the SAPS Amanzimtoti and proceedings were guided by the Department of Community Safety and Liaison.

The newly elected leadership of the Amanzimtoti CPF is: Chairman, Thabani Shibe; deputy chairman, Frank Horn; secretary, Wiseman Mseleku, deputy secretary; Carol de Castro Neto, treasurer; Sandla Shabane, public relations officer; Tommy Ackermann and additional members; Maestro Mncibi, Lindiwe Madiba and Sphindile Radebe.

“With community attendance exceeding 200, the leadership elect commits itself to ensure the fight against crime remains their priority task,” said chairman, Thabani Shibe. “What became evident during the AGM was the urge for the community and the SAPS to strengthen its relationship to ensure the approach to crime prevention is a relationship between civil society and the SAPS.

“The CPF executive will meet this week with SAPS Amanzimtoti management to discuss the road map moving forward and will release a detailed schedule of all public meetings which will take place and a full report on all CPF activities to ensure this leadership remains transparent to its constituency,” said PRO, Tommy Ackermann.
