This week’s club competitions saw the women’s handicap singles emerge as a very close game was played between Julie Sutherland and Amanda Ninow. The first half of the game was tight and then Julie pulled away, holding 15 shots to 6. However, Amanda’s fighting spirit never gave up and after 26 ends, she emerged the winner scoring 21 to Julie’s 17. Well done to both on a hard fought match. In the men’s handicap singles, there were two extremely tight games – Andrew Walker beat Kokkie de Kock 21-20, and in a longer match between Ian Crouch and Lofty van Tonder, Ian came from behind to win 21-20 after 24 ends. In the men’s senior singles, Ray Robinson beat Bobby Henderson; Boet Els prevailed over Neil Oberholzer; and Alf Bingham defeated Kokkie de Kock.

Good bowling to all the women taking part in the winter tournament on Thursday and Friday. Check the board for cardings this weekend, and remember it is Big Chicks on Sunday, 15 June. The Moths Picardy Bazooka bowls day is on Sunday, 29 June. Details are on the board or speak to Duncan Wright. The PN singles draws are also up on the board; check your games and venues.
