Home receives windfall from art club

Upper South Coast Art Association hosts artist Henk Vos this month.

The Jona Vaughan Home received an unexpected windfall at the 50th Highland Gathering, as a result of the Upper South Coast Art Association’s (USCAA) successful exhibition at Lords and Legends.

“It is always a pleasure to contribute to the local community when we can and this donation of R750 comes from the proceeds of a recent exhibition,” said USCAA president, Joan Ray.

USCAA, the local art association which has been in existence for over 30 years, is very active in the Amanzimtoti area.

Their next meeting will be held on Saturday, 17 May at 1.30pm at the Amanzimtoti library activities room. Anyone interested in joining this art group are welcome to attend as a visitor at a cost of R25 for tea, or as a member at a cost of R5.

“The renowned and loved Henk Vos will entertain members with his flamboyant ways and his exquisite art work at this meeting,” said Joan.

On Saturday, 24 May Henk will give a full day workshop at the activities hall. Anyone interested in joining this worthwhile activity with one of South Africa’s best artists in attendance may book through Ritha Fenske on 031-903-6303 or 083-595-8545.
