* REPEATED attacks on motor cars and motorists in the Umgababa area are to be reported to the Minister of Police by the MP for Amanzimtoti, Deputy Minister George Bartlett.
Bartlett said from Pretoria on Wednesday morning he was concerned about the number of incidents on the freeway and the old coastal road in the Umgababa area. He said he was prompted to action by the latest report when a Clansthal woman was terrorised after an accident near the Umgababa station.

* EDDIE Luyt, who has just returned from a 20-year stay in Europe, is urgently looking for his parents, Albert (Bert) and Ella Luyt.
Luyt said that his parents used to live in Illovo Beach Road and then moved to Doonside. When he last heard from them his dad was working in Umzinto.

* THE results of air pollution monitoring in the Umbogintwini complex have been realised and indications are there is no danger to health in the area.
The survey was carried out by a private company, Environmental Science Services CC, at the request of the Department of Health as a result of continuous complaints from residents of the area that the air was being polluted.
Residents maintained their health was being affected and the quality of life reduced.

* A LOCAL man was fined R200 for catching a crayfish out of season at Umgababa on Monday night.
Six Natal Parks board officials raided a popular crayfish spot at the Umgababa river mouth at about 10pm on Monday night and caught the man with one crayfish in his possession. He was fined R100 for catching the crayfish out of season and another R100 for possession of a female (in berry) carrying eggs.

* THE nursing sister on duty at drunken driving campaigns in Kingsburgh is to receive a R7 per hour for her services. She will now receive R15 per hour for preforming the necessary blood tests at road blocks in the borough. The borough clinic sister will also be allowed to use the official borough vehicle when road blocks are set up.
