South beaches close due to high levels of E. coli

The public are advised that Pipeline, Amanzimtoti Main and Doonside beaches have been closed, and bathing is not permitted.

DUE to high levels of E. coli, three southern beaches have been closed for bathing with immediate effect today (October 17).

Ward 97 councillor André Beetge said the closed beaches are Pipeline, Amanzimtoti Main and Doonside.

This is a precautionary measure to ensure public safety. However, Winklespruit and Umgababa beaches remain open for bathing.
