Amanzimtoti schools set for SPAR KZN Schoolgirls’ Fast 5s Netball Challenge

Since the netball tournament started in 2019, it grew from four regionals to eight. Three high schools in the Amanzimtoti area will compete in the KZN South Coast Regional.

THREE high schools from Amanzimtoti will be competing for the South Coast Regional title of the SPAR KZN Schoolgirls’ Fast 5s Netball Challenge on July 27.

“The tournament, which started in 2019, has had three tremendously successful years. Starting with four regional tournaments, the next two years grew to six then seven regionals, and this year, the challenge travels to an eighth region, with the Highway Regional settling in on the fixtures,” she said.

Richards Bay High School kicked off the challenge with the KZN North Coast Regional on July 13. This weekend, Creston College welcomes teams for the KZN South Coast Regional where Kingsway High School will be defending their championship title (2022 and 2023) while Amanzimtoti High School, Kuswag Skool and others will be there in the hope of toppling their reign.

August has three tournaments. The first, on August 3, will be hosted by King Edward High School in Matatiele and will see teams vying to raise the KZN Southern Regional trophy. St Henry’s Marist College sees teams compete for the Durban Central Regional on August 24, followed by the Highway Regional taking place on August 31, at Hillcrest High.

Two tournaments take place in September: the Durban North Regional hosted at Curro Salt Rock and the KZN Northern Regional taking place at Dundee High School on September 14.

Wrapping up the challenge, teams in the Pietermaritzburg area gather for the Pietermaritzburg Regional on October 5.

All games will be live-streamed on the SuperSport Schools’ website or mobile application. For more information, like the tournament’s Facebook page or follow on Instagram.
