KZN set to ignite the fire with mass prayer gathering
The Ignite the Fire Durban event is set to be the largest-ever prayer gathering in KwaZulu-Natal, with 60 000 people expected to be in attendance.
KWAZULU-NATAL is gearing up for a monumental spiritual event as 60 000 people are anticipated to gather at Moses Mabhida Stadium on June 15 for the ‘Ignite The Fire’ gospel campaign.

This significant assembly aims to unite believers in a collective effort to seek divine intervention, revive the church and ignite hearts towards fulfilling God’s will and making a positive impact on communities and cities through the gospel.
The one-day event calls on churches to unite in repentance and prayer for the nation, addressing pressing issues such as the concerning economic situation, high crime rate, volatile political climate and rampant corruption.
The gathering will feature influential spiritual leaders, including Evangelists Thurston Meyer and Tamryn Klintworth, Apostle Ronnie Naidoo and Pastor Aaron Munsamy. Renowned gospel artists, Dr Tumi and Ntokozo Mbambo, will also grace the event with performances.
Apostle Ronnie Naidoo, the visionary behind this massive gathering, explained the inspiration for the event, drawing from the scripture in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
“Our country and province need healing, hence the gathering of God’s people on June 15 at Moses Mabhida Stadium,” said Apostle Naidoo. “We encourage believers to come along and stand with us for this beautiful country. We call on Christians to pray for the sake of this nation. We have violence and various scourges in our province and country. Together with Evangelist Thurston Meyer, we believe in a city transformation through the igniting and empowering of the believers for the betterment of our nation,” he added.
As the countdown to this significant spiritual convergence continues, the organisers said they look forward to a day of powerful worship, heartfelt prayer and collective repentance.
