Nomfundo Ngcobo of Glorifying Christ Foundation, working hand-in-hand with Papas Hope Organisation and Embo Solving Problems, said a family of four has been left without a home in the Ehlanzeni area, in Umgababa, after their house burnt down last month.

“No one was injured, and the cause of the fire is unknown. They couldn’t save anything from the fire, and are now staying with a neighbour,” she said.

The three organisations recently visited the family to hand over food parcels. “We are pleading to anyone who can lend a helping hand with food, clothes, building materials and so forth to please assist,” said Ngcobo.

She added that other home visits were conducted for families that were affected by the recent heavy rainfall which has caused extensive damage to their homes.

“Some of their houses were left without a roof while others have huge cracks in them,” said Ngcobo.

Donations can be dropped off at Papas Hope’s office on Power Station Road, Umgababa. Alternatively, contact 065 891 4179/ 068 202 9558.
