Amanzimtoti Youth Rugby Club ends season on a high

One of the highlights of this year's rugby season was having 18 players selected to represent the KZN Duikers at an inter-provincial tournament.

EIGHTEEN boys from the Amanzimtoti Youth Rugby Club represented the KZN Duikers at the Inter-Provincial Tournament (IPT) held in Pretoria earlier this month.

Chairperson Anton Labuschagne said the Colts U12 to U18 had a wonderful season. “Forty-one of the boys were invited to attend the KZN Duiker trials that took place in August. After the trials, a total of 18 boys from Amanzimtoti Youth Rugby Club were selected to go and represent the KZN Duikers in Pretoria for the IPT,” he said.

Labuschagne said the club is proud of each player as they have worked hard for this achievement. “They faced some very strong oppositions, such as the Bulls, Lions, Valke and more sides,” he said.

This year’s season has come to an end, with the U6 to U11s season kicking off in late January next year. For more information or to join, contact Anton Labuschagne on 076 850 4485.
