The new team showed what they have got by beating Creston College 17–0. The school’s Natalie Hatting said the girls were on top form.
“They played exceptionally well, especially considering it was their second game. We were very happy with the number of supporters on the day and the support from the rest of the school was great. The team works well together, and the coach has done an exceptional job with them,” she said.
On September 6, in their first game, also against the same school, the score ended in a 5–5 draw.
Hatting congratulated Zanté Coetzee and Zahnré de Beer who provided the tries in both these matches. “Overall, the team showed that teamwork plays a huge role in any sport,” she said.
The girls started training at the beginning of the term under the coaching of Rick Hatting.
The school hopes to participate in a few games next term, as well, and to get going full-steam ahead in 2024.
