Gradwell said she will also be helping them build relationships with local businesses and sponsors. “This is vital for our day-to-day running costs of the home. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all of them for their support in the past, and we are so grateful for any continued support in the future,” he added.

Gradwell said that although she has only been in the post for a few weeks, she has already experienced and felt the wonderful environment that the team are continuing to build for the children.

Palmer said, “I have been made very welcome by Gavin and especially by the children and their warm hugs. The mothers that look after them in their individual houses also gave me a lovely reception which made me feel wanted.”

Mother of Peace, which turned 20 this year, depends on the generosity of the community and beyond to maintain a safe, nourishing and happy environment for children of all ages. These are children who have been abandoned, orphaned or abused.
