The almost 90km ultra-marathon, which is in its 96th edition and 48th ‘down run’, is set to take place tomorrow, June 11. The race will start at the City Hall in Pietermaritzburg and finish at the Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium.

The club’s Liesl Fourie said this year the club has 34 runners, of which 14 are novice. “Leading up to the day, we hosted training runs, runs to Pipeline Beach on Saturdays and time-trials on Wednesdays,” she said.

Fourie, on behalf of the club, wishes all of them a memorable run. “Make it your own race, absorb it all, and divide it up as you go. The support on the road is amazing, embrace it,” she said.
