They are also looking for volunteers in their Amanzimtoti, Pennington or Scottburgh charity shops which help generate much-needed income.

KHANYA Hospice staff wishes all mothers a happy and wonderful Mother’s Day today, May 14, and thanks those who continue to support the organisation.

The hospice’s CEO, Neil McDonald said, “Happy Mother’s Day, and thank you to all the mothers for their kind and loyal support. A thank you also goes to the general public for their kind support during challenging times.”

As a non-government organisation that does not receive funding, coupled with the continued rise in fuel price, the hospice has been affected financially.

“We need to put petrol in our vehicles to be able to do our work. For us to be able to do home-based care and get to our patients, we need reliable cars and petrol,” said Neil.

Nursing manager Sister Sue van Rijsbergen added that they are thankful and happy that they are able to provide the care that they are providing.
