Makeshift gunsmith arrested in Folweni

A total of 21 homemade guns were recovered at the scene.

ON April 25, Metro Police officers received information about a man who was manufacturing and selling homemade guns near Folweni.

eThekwini Metro Police spokesperson Boysie Zungu said officers made their way to the address to investigate.

“Our officers managed to locate the suspect at Ensimbini area where they recovered a homemade shotgun, 20 homemade revolvers and ammunition,” said Zungu.

The suspect was handed to Folweni SAPS where he was processed and put behind bars.
