Land invaders strike near Winklespruit
People have invaded a sugarcane farmland and staked their claims.
MOTORISTS and the general public have been advised to exercise caution when travelling on the N2 highway between Winklespruit and Umgababa after land invasion incidents were reported on Monday, April 17.

A large crowd of people has been seen on the west of the N2 and Karridene, between the Msimbazi and Illovo rivers since Sunday, April 16, staking their claims in a burnt-out sugarcane field. Cars have also stopped on the north and southbound lanes with people staking out claims.
Information that is being circulated on private neighbourhood watch groups has advised motorists to steer clear of the N2 near the affected area for safety reasons.
