He said games are being played both home and away, in order to prepare the teams for the season as this is the same format they will be playing.

“Almost all our age groups won their games on the day, except for one. This is a positive indicator that the hard work that has been done up to now, is paying good dividends,” said Ncube.

The results of the day are as follows: U6 lost 3-5 against Hillcrest, U7 won 14-0 against Hillcrest, U8 won 4-3 against Hillcrest, U9 won 4-3 against Forest Hills, U11 won 1-0 against Hillcrest, U12A won 5-1 against Forest Hills, U13 won 4-0 against Hillcrest A, U15 won 4-2 against Bayview and U17 won 2-0 against Forest Hills.

The club will continue with friendlies until the season kick-off on April 23. “The more games the club’s age groups get, the more they will be better prepared for the season,” he said.
