Art gallery showcases local talent

The Illovo Beach Art Gallery features seven or eight artists at any given time, all working in various styles and mediums.

THE Illovo Beach Art Gallery, founded in October 2018, gives talented local artists an opportunity to showcase their various artworks.

The gallery, founded by Maureen Babcock, combines her love for nature and art. It is surrounded by the beauty of nature and overlooks the dam at the Illovo Nursery.

The gallery affords local artists the opportunity to display and sell their artworks while allowing art lovers to view their work.

The gallery is proud to feature seven or eight artists at any given time, all working with various mediums and different styles, catering to a variety of tastes. All the artists are available and happy to assist with any specific commission requests.

Maureen and her husband, Noray, are a dynamic creative duo. Maureen, an artist for the past 25 years, paints with watercolour, inks and acrylic.

Noray is an avid Bonsai enthusiast and creates lamp-based sculptures from driftwood and crafts pens out of wood.

The gallery is open every Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 to 15:00. The address is 40 Elizabeth Avenue – across the parking lot and pond at Illovo Nursery.
