Toti Vibe Market comes to town

The market is aimed at showcasing craftsmanship in the area.

THERE were lots of fun activities, arts and crafts, and delicious food for sale at the Toti Vibe Market held at the Amanzimtoti Civic Centre recently.

The fun-filled family day was the second of its kind in Amanzimtoti. The market manager, Shaista Mohamed, said there are currently about 110 stallholders selling a wide range of items from crystals, clothing, and arts and crafts, to foods, drinks, and sweet treats.

The entertainment for the day included a performance by Cliffy the Clown, a live band, a petting zoo, and a jumping castle for the children.

Clifton Connolly, also known as Cliffy the Clown, performs at the market.

“The day was amazing. The support we have received has been exceptional, with about 700 people visiting. It’s exciting to see all the wonderful people of Toti coming out to support our vendors. We realised Toti did not have a market of this nature, and vendors did not have this opportunity to showcase their craftsmanship,” said Mohamed.

She said they started this venture to uplift the community, create job opportunities, support local, and build small businesses, especially those who were affected by Covid-19.

“It’s not only for the vendors but also to add to our lovely town’s tourism and to give people something to look forward to,” said Mohamed.
