Edgars in Galleria Mall robbed again

In May 2022, a case of business robbery was opened after six men forced their way into the store after closing time and forced staff to lie on the floor.

THE Edgars clothing store in Galleria Mall was robbed for the second time in nine months on Thursday evening, February 16.

While information is still sketchy, the robbery by an unconfirmed number of robbers happened just after the 19:00 closing time. Photographs that have been shared on social media indicate that the robbers smashed the main door and helped themselves to expensive perfumes, jewellery, and other accessories. At the time of publication, the Amanzimtoti police had not confirmed whether any money was taken.

Pictures of the robbers in two getaway cars have also appeared on social media, and one of the men is wearing a blue eThekwini Municipality work coat.

In May 2022, a case of business robbery was opened after six men forced their way into the store after closing time and forced staff to lie on the floor. They then forced the manager to open the safe and made off with R20 000 and expensive accessories, including sunglasses and watches.

The store was ransacked for expensive accessories.
