Perseverance pays off for Kingsway High’s top matriculant

The determined matriculant, who came first in Grade 10, 11 and 12, plans to study something in the medical field.

MIKHA’EEL Asmall, Kingsway High School’s best achiever in the school’s Class of 2022 matriculants, is proud of his perseverance and has his sights set on the medical field.

Mikha’eel said his matric year was quite chaotic, with many unexpected things happening. But, he enjoyed it. “I was very happy with my results, and I even surprised myself. I’m proud of my perseverance and especially proud of getting all distinctions for the first time,” he said.

His study routine, and key to achieving outstanding results, was working with many past papers and revising class work. His advice to this year’s matriculants is to stay focused and balance their time well.

“I plan to study something in the medical field and hope to complete my studies and pursue a career within that field,” said Mikha’eel.

He matriculated with seven distinctions and an average of 91.57%. He also came first in grades 10 and 11.

He thanks his family and friends for all the support and help, as well as his teachers for their guidance.

His teachers and his principal, Sandra du Toit, said his sense of responsibility and dedication led him to his success. They described him as a quiet, unassuming learner who always showed consideration towards others. He continuously applied himself to his academic work with determination, motivation and tenacity.
