Amanzimtoti Cricket Club’s Vets’ team swing and win

AMANZIMTOTI Cricket Club’s (ACC) men’s teams had their fair share of weather conditions over the weekend, while the women team’s games were cancelled due to wet pitches.

On November 12, ACC Vets played against East Coast Cricket Club on the Toti Oval, in sunny weather conditions. ACC won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 143 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

The runs were scored by Tertius Gubbles (8), Marc Shepard (10), Graham Heine (73), Frans Gerber (19), Derick Snyman (16), Chris Cronje (5), not out, and Johan Stumpke (3), not out.

ACC bowled East Coast out for 77 runs, winning the game by 66 runs. Chris took an amazing 5 wickets for only 17 runs. The other wickets were taken by Marc (1), Graham (1) and Leon van der Westhuizen (1).

On November 13, ACC 1st XI played against Delta on the Toti Oval, in overcast and rainy weather. The game was reduced to 35 overs due to the rain in the morning.

ACC won the toss and put Delta in to bat first. Delta scored 178 for the loss of 4 wickets. All 4 wickets were taken by Dylan Labuschagne. ACC scored 121 runs, losing the game by 57 runs.

The ACC Ladies second and third team games were not played due to wet pitches.
