Hearts of Toti appeal for community support
The non-profit organisation cannot do the work they do for those in need without the community’s help.
HEARTS of Toti are inundated with requests from families in need and desperately appeal to the community to help them, so that they may help others.
Hearts of Toti, a non-profit (NPO) and charitable organisation, assist the community who are going through hardships that have rendered them destitute and in need. The NPO hands out monthly food parcels to families in Amanzimtoti and surrounds, among many other initiatives.

“It’s been quite some time since we have had to sit down with the heavy feelings we have in our hearts right now. Things out there are getting tough, and we are really struggling to get the help we need. We have so many families on our books, and many of those families have children or babies,” said the organisation’s co-founder, Shanay Kapp.
She said they have always gone above and beyond to try to get families into more positive situations in order to bring their numbers down, but times are getting tougher. Hearts of Toti cannot do the work they do for others in need without the community’s help.
They are not government-funded and rely solely on the good hearts of the community and business owners. “We are asking for help out of desperation. Know that you are the Hearts of Toti and you keep this vessel afloat,” said Kapp.

She added that anyone, at any time, can come to see the work they do. “But, we need you right now. It doesn’t matter what it is you have to offer or donate. Whether it’s food, clothing, household items, monetary donations or your time, you will be helping the elderly, families and children in need,” she said.
