Move your legs for Bibles

This year, the Bible Society will host its third virtual sporting event to raise funds for the distribution of Bibles.

THIS August, the Bible Society of South Africa celebrates 202 years of Bible work in our nation and will be hosting a virtual event in aid of Bibles.

The Run, Walk, Cycle for Bibles event has evolved from a 10km and 21,1km road race to a virtual event where walkers, runners and cyclists can get in on the action and contribute towards the Bible cause.

This year’s virtual event will stretch across three weeks. Participants can choose to run, walk or cycle 5km, 10km, 21km or 42km, wherever they might find themselves during the period from August 1 to 21. Entries are R100 per person.

In 2020, the event which was held in Centurion in previous years, changed to a virtual event due to the Covid-19 pandemic. An advantage of this format is that people across the world are able to participate, with entrants from New Zealand, China and the United Kingdom doing their bit to help spread the Word of God.

Although this is a virtual event, nothing prevents large groups, like congregations, from gathering informally to take on this challenge together in a fun way.

Registration can be done on www.biblesociety.co.za.
