UPDATE: Ward 97 councillor updates on water and electricity outage

"It should take between four to five hours to have the area energised to the point where most, if not the entire area, should be back on between 19:00 and 20:00," said Beetge.

ON Tuesday, May 10, ward 97 councillor, André Beetge, provided a further update on the electricity outage in the Kingsburgh area.

Progress on the Impala Road cable is ahead of other faults, to the point where officials have already started joining in.
It should take between four to five hours to have the area energised to the point where most, if not the entire area, should be back on between 19:00 and 20:00.
However, officials will continue with the St Gabriel detection with Almond Road, scheduled for attention on  Wednesday, May 11, where after areas will again be separated to their normal supply lines.
“Please switch off all unnecessary appliances and especially high demand appliances such as geysers, air conditioning etc. Switch back on only once power has been restored, to decrease demand upon switch on and the risk of overload and prolonged outages,” said Beetge.
