Road sign vandalists sought-after

If you recognise any of these people, please contact ward 97 councillor André Beetge on 0827188137.

A VIDEO circulating on social media, shows two men pulling down a road sign on the corner of Andrew Zondo (Kingsway Road) and Emoyeni drive.

“It’s not about whatever the name is on the street sign, it’s about the vandalism of the actual property. I would really like to know who those people are because it is quite a heavy penalty for the destruction of infrastructure.

“Whether it’s a electrical, cable, tap at the beach, the showers, or a street light pole or a street name pole, all of that costs the rate payer money.

“So every time somebody breaks something that belongs to the Municipality, which belongs to everybody, means somebody has to take money out of their pocket to pay their rates, put more into the needed-funds for something that should not have been broken in the first place,” said Ward 97 councillor, André Beetge.

If you recognise any of these people, please contact Cllr André Beetge on 082 718 8137, so he can institute criminal charges for the destruction of municipal infrastructure.
