WATCH: Devastating floods lash the South Coast

Residents must remain indoors and stay off the roads.

HEAVY downpours over the last couple of days have caused many roads and suburbs in and around Durban to flood.

The South Coast has been severely affected with workers trapped in warehouses and people trapped in their homes in the Prospecton and Isipingo Beach areas.

Many roads have also washed away leading to road closures. Amanzimtoti is currently cut off from Durban with the N2 near the old Durban International Airport completely submerged under flooding water.

The Isipingo canal has breached, leading to many road closures in the Prospecton area. Residents are urged to remain indoors and stay off the roads.
