The event was not held over the last years because of Covid-19 restrictions, but Lion André Beetge of the Amanzimtoti Lions Club said they have noted the President’s latest Covid-19 announcements that were made on Tuesday evening and they remain confident that the amended regulations will be abided by.

“With outdoor masks a thing of the past, the only important cloth covering anything will be a Scottish kilt. The coastal weather along with the long weekend and a month end that coincides with April 30 will undoubtedly guarantee a record crowd. A recent meeting with the entertainment promotors confirms an exciting and new line up of bands in the entertainment areas along with Scottish bands from across the country doing what they do best on the field as well as in local drinking holes in the days preceding the actual event,” said Lion André.

He said Amanzimtoti at large stands to benefit financially from the influx of participants, spectators, and visitors, the extent of which goes beyond the hospitality industry.

“While arena events slots are being taken up at a fast pace, there remain available slots and Lion Natalie Angelo can be contacted on natalieangelo@gmail.com or 079 697 2617 for participation inquiries. Trading stand bookings can be made via Lion John West on 069 574 5081 or john.west@amanzimtoti-lions.org,” he said.

Readers are reminded of the weekly competition question as they will require all answers contained from within these editorials with six (6) entry ticket packages to the first six correct entries opened on the morning of Friday, April 29.
