Speeding motorists in Doonside cause havoc [LETTER]

Too many people are speeding and dying. How many more lives need to be lost before council does something?

EDITOR – At about 13:30 on Wednesday, 9 June, an accident occurred on Seadoone Road. There was a head-on collision on Umfuleni Drive three months ago which was speed related. We need speed bumps on both roads. Too many people are speeding and dying. How many more lives need to be lost before council does something? I have sent information to the local ward councillor on numerous occasions, but there is still no feedback.

Seadoone Road is also the main road for school children of Doon Heights Primary School and Amanzimtoti High School. Children walk to and from school on these roads.

Everyone shouts speed kills, arrive alive, be safe, don’t drink and drive, watch out for pedestrians, fasten seat belts, drive slowly, maintain safe distance to be able to stop in time, slow down in bad weather, but no one listens. So if the council or whoever is in charge of roads doesn’t want to put traffic calming bumps or robots in place, let the roads go to pot because potholes will calm the traffic and people will have to slow down and this will surely help save lives. The roads are half way there already. POTHOLE SUPPORTER   The Sun publishes letters: accompanied by the writer’s full name, address, telephone number even if you use a nom de plume.
