Residents spray, cut and shave for good cause

The event was a resounding success and members of Being Helping Hands (BHH) assisted greatly throughout the day.

Colourful hairdos and neatly trimmed hair could be seen adorned throughout Galleria Mall on Saturday, 29 May.
The Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) Shavathon drew in numbers to the mall to show their support for those with cancer. The theme for Cansa’s 2021 Shavathon was ‘colours speak louder than words.’
The event was a resounding success and members of Being Helping Hands (BHH) assisted greatly throughout the day.

“Even though we are in a pandemic, God is still good to us and so we have that ability to be good to others so we cannot stop doing what we need to do even though we are crowded by negativity. If we all fall back and take a break from assisting all those in need, how would anyone have the hope to survive,” said Surentha Govender of BHH.

The organisation responded to the call of need from Cansa.

“We have to be safe, but we cannot stop aiding those that need it. Cansa needs the funding so we are here to help. I sincerely thank the BHH team for the awesome efforts and I thank the many amazing people who came out and gave freely to this initiative that BHH aided. You have played a big part in our success for the day. God bless you.”
