Municipality warns of hoax email

Municipal contracts are not for sale and city representatives are not permitted to solicit any payment from potential tenderers.

Ethekwini Municipality warns the public of a hoax email being circulated purporting to be from the Durban Cleansing and Solid Waste (DSW) unit.

“This is a fake tender advertisement with the following contract numbers: WS7373, WS7374, WS7375, WS7376 and WS7377. The city distances itself from this fake tender email and warns the public not to fall victim to the scam,” said eThekwini Municipality’s Spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela.

Municipal contracts are not for sale and city representatives are not permitted to solicit any payment from potential tenderers.
Anyone with information regarding the matter is urged to report it to the police.
