Kamalinee Primary School learner wins Word Warrior competition

Sivani’s outstanding achievement won her a book voucher to the value of R1 000.

A Kamalinee Primary School learner won the nationwide Word Warrior competition and two others placed in the top 10. The competition is one of the projects undertaken by the Read Educational Trust that recognises learners’ talents in writing by taking the reader to a world of imagination and adventure.

“We are proud to have had one of our learners, Sivani Pillay, placed first in the country. We were fortunate to have two other learners, Jenai Chetty and Hayden Jude Annamalai featured in the top 10,” said principal, Jagatheesan Naidoo. Sivani’s outstanding achievement won her a book voucher to the value of R1 000 and a R5 000 book voucher for her school.

“We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Read Educational Trust for initiating such a splendid programme to encourage learners across the country to showcase their reading and writing skills. Congratulations to all our learners on their outstanding achievement.”
