Amanzimtoti crime fighters bust housebreakers

The operation started at about 4am and ended at about 4pm.

Five housebreakers were tracked down and arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 1 July after they broke into a Toti pub and restaurant and residence.

“After getting a good lead from one of my informers regarding the whereabouts of property stolen from a house in Kiaat Place, Doonheights, we decided to make an early start. Along with Tony Lokker and officers from ET Rapid Response, Lloyd Maphumulo from the CCPO and a detective, we first went in pursuit of a suspect that we had identified in camera footage from the restaurant break-in,” said Snodey.

After he was woken up and placed under arrest, the group went in search of the Kiaat Place suspects. “Between Rossburgh and Felikisi, we managed to arrest four and recovered what appears to be most of the stolen property. What started at about 4am, eventually ended at about 4pm. Hopefully these suspects will be held in custody and off the streets, so the better for all of us.”
