Charity shop celebrates first birthday

Residents are encouraged to support the charity shops as they are unable to conduct any fundraisers at the moment.

Excitement was in the air and shopping galore. Warner Beach SPCA charity shop celebrated turning one on Wednesday, 1 July.

To commemorate the special occasion, shoppers who spent over R100 were given discount balloons to pop. This certainly created smiles.  There were loads of sweet treats and novelty goodies for display. Some added good news, is that the store will be expanding. Shoppers can expect to see this is up and running in mid-July.

Manager of Amanzimtoti SPCA, Tracey Girling, explained that the store has grown in leaps and bounds since last year and thanked the community for its support and said, “We appreciate all of the donations during lockdown. Thanks to the community, we managed to stay afloat. A daily lockdown diary was posted to Facebook and the response from the community was heart-warming and unbelievable. We received donations of money and items for our charity stores and we would not have survived lockdown levels four and five without the support we received.”
