Titans ace top spots

There are between 300 to 500 swimmers in each age group, so this is a phenomenal achievement for the club.

Titans Swimming Club achieved top notch results in the 2019 – 2020 swim season.

Unfortunately, due to lockdown, they went into towards the end of March, the level two and three swimming nationals, which were to be held during the first term holidays in March, were cancelled.

But, the club has achieved fantastic results regardless, with seven of their levels swimmers featuring in the top 30 in South Africa and all 11 swimmers making top 30 rankings in KZN in their respective age groups.

There are between 300 to 500 swimmers in each age group, so this is a phenomenal achievement for the club.

Matthew Maree made one top five ranking, while Tristan Swart made one top five and one top 10 ranking. The Van Tonder brothers, MD and Demar made top three in SA. MD van Tonder (U10) finished third for 1000m free and brother Demar (U9) finished first for 1 000m free.

These four swimmers also made the top three rankings in KZN, as well as top 10 in KZN:
Matthew Maree U13: first in 200m fly (with a total of five top 10 KZN rankings).
Tristan Swart U11: first in 100m fly and third in 50m fly (with a total of nine top 10 KZN rankings).
Demar van Tonder U9: third in 100m and third in 200m IM (with a total of five top 10 KZN rankings).
MD van Tonder: a total of two top 10 KZN rankings.
