Hope for SPCA to generate funds

The animals at the SPCA are doing well and receive lovely, hearty meals every day through donations.

A ray of hope shone upon SPCA Amanzimtoti when it was given the go-ahead to open its charity shops to raise much-needed funds for the organisation.  However, it was a bittersweet moment since the Warner beach store had been broken into and robbed during the lockdown.

Media officer of the organisation, Stacey Wall said, “We received the amazing news that we have clearance for our charity shops to be opened. It has been extremely tough without this source of income, so we are extremely grateful. However, when we went to set up our Warner Beach shop to get ready to open on Thursday, we found that it had been broken into. The door had been broken, a few items were stolen, our till was broken into, and it seems like someone was sleeping there. Both shops opened on Wednesday, selling lovely, essential winter clothing, etc.”

“We have worked out that we need at least R50 000 per week to keep our SPCA going. Before this week we were completely reliant on your donations, and last week an amazing R26 093 was raised purely in donations, which is amazing.  We are so relieved that we are now able to sell pet items in reception, and will be able to begin opening our charity shops,” she added.
