Community assists with food drive

Ward 97 councillor, André Beetge said, "While our coordinated initiative with service organisations and the KZN Council of Churches is relatively successful, the growing requests are making it terribly difficult to assist to the required extent."

Week four of lockdown and members of the community are pleading with local organisations for assistance with food.

Ward 97 councillor, André Beetge said, “While our coordinated initiative with service organisations and the KZN Council of Churches is relatively successful, the growing requests are making it terribly difficult to assist to the required extent. Each case is also assessed on merit and accordingly supplied in line with available resources.”

For this exercise to be successful, two food banks have been set up at respectively:
Toti Methodist Church
Call 031-903-2540. Receiving goods on Tuesday and Thursday at 9am to11am.
Rhema Family Christian Ministries 
Call 083-326-3860. Receiving goods on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9am to 11am.

Cash donations by those not requiring an NGO certificate from tax rebates, can be deposited into the following account using reference ‘COVID TOTI’.  To donate use the following bank details: Lions Club Welfare, Standard Bank, branch, 057527, cheque Account, 051568055, reference, Covid Toti.
