Welfare continues to support Amanzimtoti during lockdown

A reminder of the food bank at Amazimtoti Methodist Church.

Kingsburgh Child Welfare (KFW) is still functioning during the lockdown. “As with everyone else, our social workers are limited to working from home and the lockdown has caused us to redesign our work. Regular contacts with clients, who were already struggling before, are critical now in these stressful times,” said chairman Rev Andrew Manning.

Instead of face-to-face appointments, KFW has been keeping in contact via social media and telephonically. “Counselling is being offered and, where possible, we will continue to provide material support. However psychosomatic support is the most important contribution that anyone can make now and we will provide a toolbox of help through our Facebook page to see anyone through this troubling time. We are not funded by government and our usual streams of funding have dried up and our charity shop is closed, but we will continue to support our community.”

A reminder of the food bank at Amazimtoti Methodist Church – support this initiative that will enable the NGOs in Toti to provide much-needed material assistance. You can also help make a difference by contributing financially, using the following banking details: Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare Society, Nedbank Galleria, account number: 1184923108, reference your name, surname and company name.
