Radio waves assist Khanya Hospice

Khanya Hospice is a non-profit organisation and we have to do our own fundraising.

The CEO of Khanya Hospice, Neil McDonald, visited Alansaar Radio Station in Overport last week to share the work that Khanya Hospice does in the community and the challenges it faces on a daily basis.

He was interviewed by well-known personality and radio announcer Sameera Kadar. “There are always things happening behind the scenes where people can’t see and the radio station is once such place. People can hear, but not see what is happening at Alansaar.

“Khanya Hospice is a non-profit organisation, not government funded and we have to do our own fundraising. Our services are offered for free, but it costs us to provide them,” said Neil.

As a result of a previous visit to the radio station, Khanya Hospice was able to provide three people with much-needed wheelchairs. “Thanks to Radio Alansaar for making this possible. We have three Hospice shops where we put donated articles up for sale, and this helps us to generate income.” To donate furniture, clothes, cutlery, crockery or anything you have to give away, call Neil on 083-597-8985 or email hospice@khanyahospice.co.za.
