Teaching people in Prospecton how to communicate with sign language

Staff showed their support by learning some basic signs.

The KZN Blind and Deaf Society hosted a 2020 Talk Sign Day presentation in Prospecton on Friday, 13 March.

The event, held at the Powafix premises in Transport Drive, was to create awareness about how each person can do their bit to support blind and deaf peers in the community and workplace. Staff wore their 2020 Talk Sign Day stickers proudly and showed their support by learning some basic signs.

“The KZN Blind and Deaf Society’s mission is to ensure that all blind, partially-sighted, deaf, hard of hearing and deaf-blind people are integrated into the community as members who contribute and benefit from society alongside their able bodied counterparts who do not have these disabilities,” said Talk Sign representative, Alphonce Lehasa.
