Amanzimtoti crime fighters acknowledged by SAPS

I believe this is the way forward to address crime in SA.

Teamwork between eThekweni Outer South (EOS) members and ET Rapid Response officers paid great dividends and results in the fight against crime in the EOS cluster last month.

These committed police members and response officers chased suspects on foot, dodged bullets and navigated high speed vehicle chases to apprehend and recover the stolen vehicles and goods involved in various crimes committed in Amanzimtoti, Umkomaas, KwaMakhuta, Bhekithemba, Folweni, Isipingo, Umbumbulu and Umlazi in February. Carjacking, business robberies and truck jacking are a few of the crimes that were prevented and where significant arrests were made.

Some of these brave police members went beyond the their call of duty and even delivered a baby boy at Folweni SAPS. An Umlazi FCS detective was saluted for her life term conviction for rape of a 10-year-old Umbumbulu boy.

“All these amazing stories display to our communities that SAPS and their partners are doing a great job, even with the challenges that sometimes are stacked up against them,” said acting EOS cluster commander, Brigadier Vukani Mgobhozi. “I am very proud of these police members and community members in my cluster.

I know together we can do so much more. We need each other to be able to address the serious crime in our communities and I believe this is the way forward to address crime in SA. Let us keep working together and striving for success to minimise serious crime in our area.”

All the good work and efforts made over the past month in various communities in EOS was recognised by management and acknowledged with a certificate of appreciation.
