Millions of Mandrax tablets discovered in shipping container in Prospecton

The matter is still under investigation and no arrests have been made yet.  

A shipping container with 2.5 million Mandrax tablets with the street value of about R24m was discovered in Prospecton, on Wednesday, 5 February.

Information was given to Hawks and along with Durban Metro Police, a raid was conducted.

Communications officer of Isipingo SAPS, Cpt David Ragavan explained that the matter is still under investigation and no arrests have been made yet.  “Police are undertaking all measures to ensure that drugs are kept of the streets.  Those responsible for drug related crimes will be brought to book,” he added.
