JUST IN: Driver seriously injured and robbed following head-on collision

One of the drivers was pulled out of his vehicle by two men who dragged him to the side of the road and robbed him of his personal belongings.

Two people sustained serious head injuries after being involved in a head on collision at about 2pm today, 1 November, on the bridge over the Amanzimtoti River.

It is believed that the driver of a pharmaceutics vehicle had lost control and crashed into the other vehicle.  One of the drivers was pulled out of his vehicle by two men who dragged him to the side of the road and robbed him of his personal belongings.  Traffic was backed up, motorists shout avoid the area.

Traffic was backed up.

 

Both drivers sustained serious injuries.

Both of the injured drivers were taken to hospital for further treatment. The relevant authorities were on scene and will investigate the crash further.
