According to reports at the animal welfare organisation based in Toti, there were only a few stray animals bought into the facility, however, two dogs were brought in badly injured and they had to be put down, several other deceased animals were also taken in and almost five animals are still missing.

“People need to keep their pets inside and follow the safety hints that we issue.  It is just one or two nights when fireworks are lit and there are precautions that should be taken into consideration.  Even if you don’t like keeping your pet inside your house, you should consider their safety.  There was also a case where a rottweiler had gotten out of the yard and was knocked by a car, this is highly disturbing.  The calming tablets are offered at the SPCA and many veterinarian clinics, these need to be taken in advanced to avoid any stress on your pets.  Residents also need to bear in mind that animals endure sound that is amplified many times more than humans,” said Tracey.
