Woman robbed and shot in Isipingo

She was shot on the upper right side of her chest.

A woman believed to be in her 30s was robbed of her handbag and shot on Prospecton Road, Isipingo, on Monday evening, 30 September.

PT Ambulance services responded swiftly to the scene and assessed the gunshot victim.

Communications spokesperson of PT Alarms, Devan Govindasamy, said, “The woman had been returning from work when she was confronted by a single gunman. She was shot on the upper right side of the chest. Paramedics Welile Ngojini and Simelokuhle Makhanya stabilised the patient on scene and found that the single bullet was lodged inside the chest.”

The victim was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment.

The matter is being investigated.
